About

Valeria Bertacco, vice provost for engaged learning, leads the effort to maximize the ability of the University of Michigan to create richly engaged learning experiences for our students, staff, and faculty, both domestically and abroad.

This area empowers the university community to discover new ideas and create new outcomes that positively impact the people of Michigan and the world.  This is accomplished through the development of high-quality collaborations within the U-M community as well as with external partners. New ideas and program models are piloted and fostered to enhance the work of U-M students, staff, and faculty. The area nurtures networks, collaborations, and joint programs and helps build shared infrastructure.
