Provost’s Message to Deans – DEI Clarification
The following message was sent by Provost McCauley to the deans on November 27, 2024. It is published here for your convenience.
Dear Colleagues,
Many members of our community are concerned about the state of diversity, equity, and inclusion at the university. Those concerns have grown because of recent claims that the university is considering fully defunding these types of programs.
To be clear, those claims are incorrect.
For example, the University is considering expanding access to our educational offerings through programs such as the Go Blue Guarantee.
I look forward to working with you and our entire community to support our students, faculty, and staff in line with our mission and values.
Kind regards,
Laurie McCauley
