Guidance for staff members working on sponsored projects or in technology transfer

You have a staff member working for you on a research grant. What responsibility does this person have to monitor and disclose potential COIs and COCs?

If the staff member working with you on a sponsored research project has a financial interest in an outside entity related to the research, he or she may have an obligation under the conflict of interest policy established by the Office of the Vice President for Research.  For assistance in determining whether this individual has a disclosure responsibility, see http://orsp.umich.edu/policies/um/coi/howto.html.

If you or your staff member has questions (e.g., about particular disclosure requirements) more information is available from the Office of the Vice President for Research.  See http://www.research.umich.edu/.
