Disclosing Potential Conflicts of Interest and Conflicts of Commitment

Then what will happen after my conversation with the COI/COC manager? 

It depends.  The COI/COC manager may find that disclosure alone is adequate to address the concerns raised by the potential COI or COC. In that case, he or she will make a record of the disclosure and recommend to your unit’s decision-maker that you don’t need to do anything more.

However, where disclosure alone is insufficient, the COI/COC manager may recommend steps to manage or eliminate the potential conflict, depending on the circumstances.
