What are the University’s guidelines for accepting gifts? 

Under University policy, faculty and staff are not allowed to receive gifts of substantial value from vendors or students.

Within this general guideline, your unit’s COI/COC implementation policy may define more specifically what is or is not allowed.  For example, your unit may not allow faculty or staff to accept gifts of any value, or it may allow employees to accept gifts valued at less than a designated amount (e.g., $10).
